Publish With Bonnie Publishing
At Bonnie Publishing, every book begins with a story worth telling.
Bonnie Publishing is an independent imprint dedicated to stories that explore folklore, myth, cultural heritage and imaginative storytelling, as well as stories written by and for those whose brains work differently.
Our books often draw inspiration from landscape, our history and the rich traditions that shape how old and modern communities understand the world.
We are particularly interested in authors whose work reflects themes connected to:
- Folklore and mythology
- Witchcraft and historical beliefs
- Sorcery and magical traditions in storytelling
- Fairy Tales
- Non-fiction associated with the above themes
- Books that celebrate disability and neurodiverse perspectives, written for readers of all ages.
- Nature-based themes and landscape-inspired narratives
Our aim is to build a small but meaningful catalogue of books that share a common spirit of curiosity, imagination and respect for cultural storytelling traditions.
Pillar One: Story
We look for books with strong narrative voices and meaningful storytelling. Whether inspired by folklore, place or personal experience, each story should offer readers something memorable and thought-provoking.
Pillar Two: Place
Many Bonnie Publishing books draw inspiration from landscape, heritage and the environments that shape culture and identity. We value stories that feel grounded in place and atmosphere.
Pillar Three: Perspective
We welcome diverse voices and perspectives, particularly work that brings new insight into disability, cultural storytelling or overlooked histories.

Our Approach to Publishing

By maintaining a smaller u, we are able to give each project the time and care it deserves.

What Makes a Bonnie Publishing Book?
Stories rooted in folklore, imagination and the very landscapes that shape us and our communities for thousands of years
At Bonnie Publishing, we believe stories should feel meaningful, thoughtful and connected to something larger than themselves. A Bonnie Publishing book is more than simply a story; it is a piece of storytelling that invites curiosity, reflection and imagination.
Whilst we are a young publishing imprint, we are very clear in our ethos and values.
Many of the books we publish share common threads: inspiration drawn from folklore, nature, a range of land-based cultural heritage and the landscapes that shape our sense of place. We are interested in stories that also explore human experience with warmth, creativity and depth.
Our books often blend imagination with ideas rooted in history, myth or the natural world. They encourage readers to think, question and explore rather than simply consume a story.
Above all, a Bonnie Publishing book reflects the voice and vision of its author. We value authenticity, originality and storytelling that feels personal and sincere.
As a small independent imprint, we focus on carefully curated projects that align with our ethos — stories that celebrate imagination, inclusivity and the enduring power of storytelling.

To ensure that submissions align with the strong ethos and focus of Bonnie Publishing, we are currently unable to consider manuscripts that fall outside our core areas of interest.
At this time, we do not accept:
- Work that has been previously distributed or previously released in print or digital form
- Explicit or graphic content intended for adult-only audiences
- Manuscripts that promote discrimination, harm or exclusion
- AI-generated manuscripts that have not been substantially developed and written by the submitting author will be part of our review process to determine the use of Ai to generate manuscripts and must be declared by the author.
- Projects that do not align with the themes of folklore, storytelling, cultural heritage or neurodiverse and inclusive perspectives
- Books that are available in the Open Library
- E-Books
Bonnie Publishing focuses on developing original works in collaboration with authors. For this reason, we are only able to consider manuscripts that have not previously been published or made available for sale elsewhere, including through self-publishing platforms such as Amazon KDP.
If you have previously shared short excerpts or early drafts privately, as part of a submitted thesis or shared within writing groups, this will not affect your submission.
AI Policy
Bonnie Publishing values original storytelling and authentic author voices. Manuscripts that are submitted must be primarily written by the author and not substantially generated by any form of artificial intelligence. Limited use of digital tools for editing or research is acceptable, but the creative work must remain the author’s own.

Royalties & Author Agreements
Bonnie Publishing believes in transparent and fair publishing relationships.
Authors publishing under the imprint will receive a formal publishing agreement outlining rights, responsibilities and royalty arrangements before any project moves forward.
Royalty structures may vary depending on the nature of the project but typically include:
- A percentage of net sales from each book sold
- Clear reporting of sales and royalties on a monthly basis
- Defined rights and licensing agreements
Exact royalty percentages and terms will be discussed individually with authors and will be confirmed in a signed publishing contract.
Bonnie Publishing does not require authors to give up ownership of their work beyond the rights necessary to publish and distribute the book.
By working together, we hope to build a catalogue of books that reflect imagination, heritage and the enduring power of storytelling.
Submission Guidance
If you are interested in publishing under the Bonnie Publishing imprint, please prepare the following:
- A short author introduction
- A brief overview of your manuscript or book idea
- The first chapter or sample of your work
- Social media accounts associated with your writing.
Submissions should include enough information to help us understand the theme, audience and inspiration behind your work.
Please note that, due to the nature of independent publishing, we may not be able to respond to every submission immediately, but we aim to review all enquiries carefully and provide feedback to you.
